The first day back to school will be Thursday, January 3rd, 2013.  The class rotation will be Periods 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7.

Liliha Mc'Donald's is hosting McTeacher Night for KMS AVID program.
A portion of the proceeds made between 4-7pm will be donated to KMS AVID program.

No School 11/12

Monday, November 12th is Veterans' Day. There will be no school on this day. School will resume on Tuesday, November 13 and the class rotation that day will be 5, 6, 7, 1, and 2.

It's election day on Tuesday November 11.  There will be no school. School will be back on Wednesday. The class rotation for Wednesday will be periods 5, 6, 7, and 1.

AVID parent workshop

We will be having our AVID parent workshop on Monday, November 5, at 6:00pm in the KMS Library. Please come down to learn more about what AVID is, the benefits of the the AVID program, and how your child cant become a part out our AVID program. We look forward to seeing you there.

No School August 17

August 17 is Statehood Day. There will be no school on this day. School will be back on Monday, August 20. The class rotation that day will be periods 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Open House 2012

Open House will be on Thursday, August 16, 2012. Dinner will begin at 5:00pm followed by the PTSA general membership meeting and classroom visitations.

Dinner tickets can be ordered by filling out and returning the order form sent home in the Communications Folder.

Dinner is $5.

Baked spaghetti w/meat sauce, tossed salad, garlic french roll, and a beverage will be served.

Bring orders to the office by Tuesday, August 7, 2012.

Dinner line closes at 5:40pm.

Asbestos Inspection

The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires Kawananakoa Middle School to notify parents, teachers, and employees of the presence and status of asbestos containing materials in our school buildings.

In order to ensure that asbestos-containing materials do not pose a hazard to our students, faculty, and staff, periodic surveillances are conducted twice each year. Kawananakoa Middle School has recently completed the required six month surveillance as of June 28, 2012 and will complete the next required surveillance by December 31, 2012.  The results of the recently completed surveillance indicate there were no changes in the condition of the asbestos containing materials in our school buildings.

A copy of the inspection report and the Asbestos Management Plan is available for your review in our office during normal school hours.

6th grade class day

Tuesday, May 22 is the 6th grade Class Day excursion to Ice Palace. Remember to wear  your red school uniform shirt and shoes and socks.

Return to school on 3/19

Monday, March 19 will be the first day back from Spring Break.
The class rotation will be Periods 1, 2 3, 4, & 5.

Here at KMS we have small speech club, BUT they obviously pack a punch...
