AVID parent workshop
We will be having our AVID parent workshop on Monday, November 5, at 6:00pm in the KMS Library. Please come down to learn more about what AVID is, the benefits of the the AVID program, and how your child cant become a part out our AVID program. We look forward to seeing you there.

Open House 2012
Open House will be on Thursday, August 16, 2012. Dinner will begin at 5:00pm followed by the PTSA general membership meeting and classroom visitations.
Dinner tickets can be ordered by filling out and returning the order form sent home in the Communications Folder.
Dinner is $5.
Baked spaghetti w/meat sauce, tossed salad, garlic french roll, and a beverage will be served.
Bring orders to the office by Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
Dinner line closes at 5:40pm.

Prepping for the show
Students involved with KSA (Kawananakoa Student Association) help get ready for the annual school talent show. This year the talent show will be on Friday, September 16th. There will be singers, an ukulele player, piano player, and guitarist among the performers. The show usually ends with a performance from the Kawananakoa Student Association officers and representatives.

KMS Art Teacher has his own show!
Mr. Tambio is not only an art teacher but an artist himself. His work will be on display in Hotel Renew in Waikiki. An interview with Flux Hawaii magazine tells more about him and his art.

New students' first day
Monday, August 1, 2011 is the first day of school for all new students. Students are to gather in the auditorium by 8:00am. Events will include an assembly, campus tour, and field games.

Returning students begin
The first day for all students at Kawananakoa Middle School will be Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Students will be attending all periods on this day. School begins at 8:00am

clean up time out
KMS student Tiffany takes a break during the Sandy Beach clean up. On Saturday, February 19th, students and staff helped our community by volunteering to pick up trash at the beach. This activity is done every year. Bags of trash are filled each time.

Open House
Thursday, August 19th is the night of the KMS Open House.
It is the annual event when parents and families can visit the campus and meet his or her teachers.Teachers introduce themselves and give an overview of how their classes work.

5:00 - 5:40 pm - Dinner pick up starts
5:40 - 6:00 pm - PTSA meeting
6:05 - 8:15 pm - Visit classrooms

School will end at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 18th, instead of the regular 1:20 pm time.
